- Sandstone is the traditional local building material and stone walls are a characteristic element in the landscape
- The site overlooks the village. The seat was positioned in order to enjoy the best views towards the old part of the village and the countryside beyond
- The design includes the use of stone walling in a traditional way but also incorporates contemporary details
- The seating area is used by both long distance walkers and local people
- The scheme was skilfully implemented by a local stonemasons
