Portrack Lane Roundabouts,
Stockton on Tees
- Design of two roundabouts on Portrack Lane, a trading estate situated on a principle route into the town
- The scheme brings a focus to the former Enterprise Zone which previously had little sense of place
- Stone, metal, hard surfacing and planting are used to create a contemporary feel near to this steel producing area
- The design presented two different faces: The approach to the town is predominantly hard landscape elements comprising a steel shield, large stones, cobbles and bonded gravel. The departing view comprises a soft sloping bank of plants
